# Socials Calendar

### How the calendar works

The Socials calendar shows your content for the month and keeps each post organized by date.

Posts can appear with different statuses depending on where they are in the workflow, for example:

* **Needs review** — the post has been created and is waiting for you to review it.
* **Needs approval** — the post is ready for approval before scheduling.
* **Scheduled** — the post is approved and scheduled.
* **Published** — the post has already gone live.

Some future slots may appear as placeholders showing when Holo will generate the ideas.

Holo normally prepares content about one to two weeks ahead. New ideas are added weekly, so it’s normal for later weeks in the calendar to still be empty.

***

### Review an idea and create a post

Click an idea on the calendar to open it.

Before creating the post, you can review the proposed topic and make changes if needed. Depending on the idea, you can:

* Edit the topic
* Regenerate the idea
* Change the planned publishing time
* Click **Create post** to continue

Holo will then generate the post based on the idea and your Brand DNA.

### Review a generated post

Once the post is ready, open it from the calendar.

You can review the visual, caption, platform, post type, and scheduled time before anything is published.

From the review screen, you can:

* Edit or regenerate the caption
* Edit or regenerate the visual
* Change the scheduled date or time
* Delete the post
* Approve and schedule the post

To edit the caption, hover over the caption field and click the **edit** icon.

When everything looks right, click **Approve and schedule**.

{% hint style="info" %}
If the selected social media account is not connected yet, Holo will ask you to connect it before scheduling.
{% endhint %}

### Automatic approval

When reviewing a post, you may see **Enable automatic approval**.

Turning this on allows Holo to approve and schedule future generated posts for that channel automatically, without requiring you to review each one manually.

For more control over automatic idea generation, post generation, posting frequency, formats, and automatic scheduling, see the separate [**Manage Socials automations**](/holo-docs/socials/manage-socials-automations.md) guide.

### Create a post manually

You don’t have to wait for Holo to generate an idea.

To create a post for a specific day:

1. Open **Socials**.
2. Find the day you want to publish on.
3. Click **+ Add**.
4. Choose or upload a creative from your Library.
5. Select the platform or platforms you want to publish to.
6. Choose the appropriate post type.
7. Review or generate the caption.
8. Edit the caption if needed.
9. Review the publishing date and time.
10. Click **Schedule**.

You can select multiple social media platforms when creating a post manually.

Depending on the selected platform, you may also be able to choose between different publishing formats, such as a regular post or Story.

***

### Change the schedule

Before scheduling a post, you can change:

* The publishing date
* The publishing time
* The post format, where applicable

Click **Adjust settings**, make your changes, then confirm them before scheduling.

### Reschedule or cancel a scheduled post

Scheduled posts can still be changed.

Open the scheduled post from the calendar. From there, you can:

* Click **Reschedule** to choose a new date or time
* Click **Cancel schedule** to remove the current schedule

After rescheduling, the updated time will appear on the calendar.

Cancelled posts will return to the **Review** stage.

***

### Connect your social media accounts

A social media account must be connected before Holo can publish or schedule posts to that platform.

You can still receive and review ideas before connecting an account.

When you try to schedule a post for an unconnected platform, Holo will prompt you to connect it first.

You can also manage connected platforms from **Manage automations** or **More → Integrations**.
