# Troubleshoot SEO Publishing Connections

If you’re having trouble connecting WordPress or Shopify to Holo, match the message you see with the steps below.

You can manage your publishing connection from **More → Integrations**.

### WordPress.com

If WordPress.com does not connect:

* Make sure you sign in with the WordPress.com account that owns the site.
* Approve the connection when prompted.
* If the account has no websites, use another account or create a site first.
* If you approved access but the site still does not appear connected, wait a moment and try once more.

### Self-hosted WordPress

Before troubleshooting, make sure you are using your website homepage URL.

You can also open:

`yourwebsite.com/wp-json`

in your browser. If it does not load, Holo may not be able to reach the WordPress site.

<details>

<summary><strong>“WordPress rejected those credentials”</strong></summary>

Make sure:

* You entered your actual WordPress username.
* You used an **Application Password**, not your normal login password.

Then try connecting again.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“This WordPress user cannot publish posts or upload media”</strong></summary>

The connected WordPress user needs to be an:

* Author
* Editor
* Administrator

Update the user role in WordPress or connect a different account.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“A WordPress security plugin is blocking REST API access”</strong></summary>

If you use a security plugin such as Wordfence, Solid Security, or All In One WP Security, make sure it allows:

* REST API access
* Application Passwords

Then reconnect.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“A firewall blocked the request”</strong></summary>

Your host, firewall, or Cloudflare may be blocking WordPress REST API requests.

Make sure requests to:

`/wp-json`

are allowed, then try again.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“That URL does not look like a WordPress site”</strong></summary>

Check that you entered the homepage URL of your WordPress site, not a blog post, admin page, or another URL.

</details>

### Shopify

<details>

<summary><strong>“Enter your store's .myshopify.com name”</strong></summary>

Use your Shopify store’s `.myshopify.com` address instead of a custom domain.

You can find it under **Shopify Settings → Domains**.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“No match for this domain”</strong></summary>

Check that the **Social Connector** app is installed on the same Shopify store you entered in Holo.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“Shopify rejected those credentials”</strong></summary>

Make sure the Social Connector app is installed and has:

* `read_content`
* `write_content`

permissions.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“No Shopify blog selected”</strong></summary>

Open the Shopify integration in Holo and choose the blog you want to publish to.

Then try publishing again.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“The selected Shopify blog is no longer valid”</strong></summary>

Open the integration and select the blog again.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>“Shopify rejected the article publish request”</strong></summary>

If the app is installed correctly and a valid blog is selected, contact Holo Support and include a screenshot of the error.
