# Connect your website for SEO publishing

To publish SEO blog posts from Holo, connect your website from **Brand DNA → Integrations**.

Under **SEO publishing**, you can connect:

* WordPress
* Shopify
* Custom website

Holo only publishes blog posts you approve.

### Connect WordPress

From **Brand DNA → Integrations**, find **WordPress** and click the **+** icon.

Click **Connect**, then choose whether your website is hosted on **WordPress.com** or is **Self-hosted**.

#### WordPress.com

Select **WordPress.com**, then click **Connect with WordPress.com**.

You'll be redirected to WordPress in a new tab to sign in and authorize the connection. Once authorization is complete, return to Holo.

#### Self-hosted WordPress

Before connecting, make sure:

* You have Admin or Editor access to your WordPress website.
* Your website uses WordPress 5.6 or later.
* Your website runs on HTTPS.

To connect:

1. Enter your WordPress **Site URL**.
2. Open your WordPress user profile.
3. Go to **Users → Profile** or **Users → All Users → Edit** and find **Application Passwords**.
4. Create a new application password. You can name it something recognizable, such as *Holo*.
5. Copy the generated application password. WordPress only shows it once.
6. Paste the application password into Holo.
7. Enter the WordPress username for the same account.
8. Click **Connect**.

Use an **application password**, not your normal WordPress account password.

### Connect Shopify

From **Brand DNA → Integrations**, find **Shopify**, click the **+** icon, then select **Connect**.

**Before connecting**, make sure:

* You have Admin access to your Shopify store.
* Your Shopify store already has at least one blog.

**To connect:**

1. Enter your store's `.myshopify.com` domain.
2. Click **View on the Shopify App Store** or **Install Social Connector**.
3. Approve the app installation in Shopify. The app requests `read_content` and `write_content` permissions so Holo can access your blogs and publish articles.
4. After the installation is complete, choose which Shopify blog Holo should publish articles to.
5. Click **Install Social Connector**.

Use the `.myshopify.com` store address rather than a custom domain.

### Connect a custom website

Use the **Custom** integration if your website doesn't use WordPress or Shopify.

Before connecting, make sure:

* You can edit your website's HTML or add a custom-code/embed block.
* You have a dedicated page for your blog, such as `/blog`.

To connect:

1. Create a dedicated blog page and add it to your website navigation.
2. Open the page editor and add an **HTML**, **embed**, or **custom-code** block.
3. In Holo, copy the provided embed snippet. Your publishing key is already included.
4. Paste the snippet into the page where you want your blog posts to appear.
5. Publish or update the page.
6. Open the page and confirm that the blog appears correctly.
7. Return to Holo and click **Mark as published**.

For best SEO results, use a custom-code or HTML block rather than an iframe. If your website builder wraps the snippet in an iframe, search engines may not treat each blog post as its own page.

### Changing your publishing connection

{% hint style="warning" %}
Only **one SEO publishing destination** can be active for a brand at a time. If you connect a different SEO publishing platform, it will replace the previous connection.
{% endhint %}

You can manage your connection at any time from **Brand DNA → Integrations**.
